	UPCOMING EVENTS Sunday School Fall Kickoff Sunday, September 12th The lazy days of summer are dwindling and we are already preparing for the 2010/2011 Sunday School year. On September 12th, we will begin our full program of regular Sunday School classes, as well as Jr. Church during the 10am service for children age 4 through 3rd grade. 3D Weight Management Program Tuesday, September 14th The 3D Plan for Eating Right, Living Well, and Loving God is a 12-week journey to wholeness and provides the knowledge and tools to eat right for your whole life. This study begins Tuesday, Sept. 15th at 6pm. Cost is $1 per week, plus the book cost. Please sign up in the Gathering Area. Pastor's Bible Study - "Life Rules" Wednesday, September 15th When we were kids, half the fun was breaking the rules without getting caught. In life though, there's nothing fun about broken promises, broken relationships, or a broken heart. In this six-part series, Andy Stanley explains that God has given us a set of life rules that can improve our current relationships and help restore a damaged or broken one. This study begins Wednesday, Sept. 15th. There will be two sessions, at 10:30am and 6:30pm. Please sign up in the Gathering Area. Old Carolina Barbecue Dinner Friday, September 17th Let Old Carolina do the cooking for you on Sept. 17th! The Missions Committee will again host a fundraiser pulled pork sandwich dinner from Old Carolina. Tickets are $8 (adult) and $5 (children under 12). Serving time will be from 4-7pm. Takeout dinners will also be available. There will be no ticket sales at the door. Friend Day Sunday, September 26th Please be our guest at our annual "Friend Day". We will begin with Sunday School/Small Groups at 9am and then have a combined church service at 10am. Following the service, we will have our time of fellowship in the Social Hall with cookies, coffee and conversation. Close to Home Tuesday, September 28th Close to Home will meet at 11am at the church to travel to Dolly Madison Restaurant for lunch and Shearers Marketplace Factory Outlet in Brewster. Please sign up today. Pork/Sauerkraut Dinner Friday, October 8th Homecoming Weekend, the celebration of First Church's 200th anniversary, begins on Friday, Oct. 8th with a Pork/Sauerkraut Dinner. Tickets are required and will only be sold through Oct. 3rd. No ticket sales at the door. Cost is $5 (adult), $3 (child 6-12) and children under 5 are free. Hot dogs will also be available. Homecoming Weekend October 8-10 We encourage all members, families, friends, past Confirmands and guests to join us for our final commemorative celebration of First Church's 200th Anniversary. Festivities begin on Friday, Oct. 8th with a Pork/Sauerkraut Dinner. Several events take place on Saturday, Oct. 9th, such as the blessing of our most recent Habitat House and family, a special speaker, tree planting, volunteer recognition, Mayor Proclamation, and more. We conclude our Homecoming Weekend on Sunday, Oct. 10th when First Church's past ministers will share with us during the 10am service. Our special commemorative DVDs will be distributed during this weekend also.
